President Benigno Aquino III was threatened to be excommunicated from the Catholic Church for providing free contraceptives to poor couples.
Excommunication, the highest form of punishment in the Catholic Church, was brought up by the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP). The church deems birth control as highly immoral and even equated it to abortion.
Police found a newborn baby boy inside a garbage bag that was unloaded from a plane that landed from Middle East last Sunday.
The baby, still covered in blood and wrapped in tissue paper, was bought to the airport clinic to be examined and cleaned. The nurses gave him a bottle of milk and wrapped him in cloth. According to the doctors the baby boy’s vital signs are okay.

Today is really a sad day. It’s all over the news. An almost 12-hour hostage taking happened in the Quirino Grandstand and the hostages are the Chinese tourists whose flight back home was supposedly today, and I say it, I am really disappointed with what happened. Everything turned out to be a joke!

The death toll from the passenger bus that fell into a ravine in Benguet province on Wednesday has risen to 41, police said.
MANILA, Philippines – Newlyweds Krista Ranillo and Jefferson Nino Lim are planning to hold a grand wedding ceremony in the Philippines next year.
Ranillo told ABS-CBN North America News Bureau that they are considering the possibility of getting married here.
Last minute preparations for the wedding prevented most of the couple’s guests from Manila from coming over to witness the event. The original plan was for a big church wedding within the year where all of Nino’s and Krista’s friends and family from home will be invited.
